Roger Federer and John Isner will face off in the Miami Open final on Sunday at 1 pm. Here the match preview.
Roger Federer’s Miami Open
The Swiss legend has already won the Miami Open on 3 occasions (2005, 2006, and 2017) and he was the runner-up in 2002.
This year, Roger had a tricky start against Radu Albot after he won in 3 sets. Then Federer found his groove to beat in straight sets Filip Krajinovic, Daniil Medvedev, Kevin Anderson, and Denis Shapovalov. The Maestro played exceptionally well especially in the last 2 encounters.
John Isner’s Miami Open
The American no.1 was the big surprise of last year’s Miami Open after he won the title. John decided to surprise again in 2019 to reach the final after dropping no sets on the way and playing and winning 9 tiebreaks out of 10 sets!
John seems not to feel the pressure of defending his title to comment
“If this was eight years ago, I might have felt that pressure [of being the defending champion]. But now, I don’t ever think about defending [rankings] points or anything like that. I used to worry about that, but I don’t anymore.”
