In a recent interview, Roger Federer stated that he had no regrets about his decision to retire and that he now feels delighted and at peace with it.

The Swiss master retired last year with one last match at the Laver Cup, finishing off a remarkable career that lasted more than two decades. Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray, three of Federer’s biggest competitors on the tour, attended the ceremony.

The final tennis match of the 20-time Grand Slam professional career, which he played in a doubles match with Rafael Nadal, was followed by an emotional farewell ceremony in London.

Federer broke into tears while Nadal, Djokovic, and the rest of the group all started crying during the ceremony.

Talking at the farewell ceremony he expressed his feelings by saying: “At the end, I was relieved, I think, and happy to retire. It ended in the most perfect way at the Laver Cup.”

Federer talked about the decades-long rivalry and stated: ” I was surrounded by my biggest rivals, and my family was there and my friends. For me, it felt like, “OK, I’m good now. I don’t need to chase that itch anymore.”
