Nick Kyrgios did not have the comeback he was hoping for after undergoing knee surgery at the beginning of the year. The Australian player competed only in one tournament on grass in Stuttgart, where he lost in the first round. After that, Nick had some wrist issues that made him skip the entire grass court season.
Recently, he also withdrew from the tournaments in Washington and Toronto. Curious was recently spotted back in Australia having an ear cut. Debt makes it plausible that he will skip the U.S. Open and probably the rest of the season. New announcements are expected.

Currently ranked no.35, the Australian played his last match on the 13th of June when he surrendered to world no.90 Yibing Wu 7-5 6-3 in the 1st round in Stuttgart (draw).
During this season the Australian has managed to achieve an overall 0-1 win-loss record.
Kyrgios is scheduled to compete next in Toronto (National Bank Open). He will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 7th of August.
