Miami. John Isner managed to reach his back to back final at the Miami Open after he defeated 18-year-old Felix Auger Aliassime.
The young Canadian impressed after he reached the final 4 starting from the qualifications. Unfortunately, Felix didn’t manage to overcome the American giant, but he wasn’t that far from it since he had the opportunity serve-out both the first and the second set before dropping his serve. Eventually, Felix lost 7-6 7-6, but he left a great impression.
Why John Isner thinks that Felix Auger Aliassime is special
Soon after losing the match against the American, the Canadian went to practice his serve to understand why this crucial shot let him down during the most critical moments of his semifinal. That didn’t look unnoticed by tennis commentator and former tennis player Mark Petchey that tweeted
“You can’t seem him but trust me he is there on his own. No coach practicing his serves. 2 people in the crowd @felixtennis #alreadylegendaryworkethic”
John Isner retweeted saying: “Humble and hard working. He’s a special player.”
