This year, Nick Kyrgios has dealt with his injuries frequently. He seemed to be in great shape to play some of his finest tennis after a successful Wimbledon run in 2022.
Since the US Open last year, Kyrgios has only competed in two singles tournaments. He pulled out of all three Grand Slam events this year because he couldn’t get over his injuries.
Only one month remains until the US Open. He might not be supported by his body, nevertheless. After he withdrew from Wimbledon due to wrist problems, injury concerns mounted. There doesn’t appear to have been any relief for the Australian.
He updated his Instagram followers on his wrist issues: “Unfortunately my body is not ready to compete yet. My wrist is still not anywhere near to pain-free. Keep you all updated.”
For Kyrgios, missing the US Open would be a much larger blow than missing any of the other three Grand Slams this year.
