Novak Djokovic’s coach Goran Ivanisevic talks about the challenges of coaching the Serbian champion

Djokovic's coach Goran Ivanisevic shares his thoughts on coaching Novak and the challenges he faces when the player gets angry on the court.

Djokovic Gets Angry On His Coach

Novak Djokovic is preparing to return to the United States for US Open although he missed his previous tour due to the restrictions on the anti-Covid-19 vaccine.

In order to achieve top form, Djokovic’s coach Goran Ivanisevic revealed that the Serbian will resume practice this week with increased intensity. Before the US Open, Djokovic will compete in the Cincinnati Masters.

Ivanisevic has acknowledged multiple times that coaching Djokovic is not at all simple. The Serbian strives for perfection and sometimes he gets much angry on the court when he doesn’t attain desirable results. Ivanisevic doesn’t take Djokovic’s reactions personally; he views them as the result of the heat of the moment.

While talking about his quarrels with Djokovic on the court, he explained: “Fights? No, it’s nonsense! First of all, I can’t hear half of the things he says. We’re talking about huge stadiums, where people scream and don’t let you hear everything. Djokovic’s reactions don’t bother me. These are emotions that he has to get out  somehow. We talk a million times and I have no problem with him.”
