Caroline Wozniacki recently practiced alongside her younger countryman Holger Rune, while preparing for her return to competition at the 2023 Canadian Open.

At the 2020 Australian Open, Wozniacki announced her initial retirement from professional tennis. Recently, she announced that she will be coming out of retirement before the 2023 US Open after three years and having two babies.

The former World No. 1 said that one of her goals was to show other mothers and herself that it is possible to have a career after having children.

She said in n interview with Vogue: “I’ve talked with a lot of women who gave up on their own dreams because they wanted to be with their families, but somewhere deep down they have this yearning to do something they’re passionate about.”

She further added: “I want to prove that to myself and to those women. You can have both: you can be thrilled with your family and with everything at home and still have a career, and be great at it.”
