Rafael Nadal is not having his finest season, at least so far. The King of Clay seems to be “less royal” even on the dirt after losing a couple of times to Fognini (Rio de Janeiro and Barcelona) . In addition Rafa didn’t convince in Monte-Carlo where he was easily dismissed by Djokovic in the final with a telling 6-3 6-3.
So who is the favorite for the French Open? Nadal! It seems everybody agrees on this one (but Nadal himself). Becker, Federer and now Marion Bartoli all think the same.

According to the Frenchwoman “I don’t intend to completely change the predictions. Thus I say Serena Williams the winner in women’s singles to win the French Open. She simply is the best when she is in good form. As a possible outsider I take Simona Halep, who can really play well on clay. I also believe that for France Caroline Garcia will make it into the second week.
Speaking of the men’s draw, despite his recent losses I don’t see Rafael Nadal losing at the best of five sets. In Paris conditions will be completely different considering how right now they are playing at best of three sets. For the French on the men’s draw I pick Gael Monfils. He already reached the semi-finals at Roland Garros in 2008, he can do well here”.
So it will Rafa and Serena… probably too easy predict the same champions as last year isn’t it?
