Felix Auger Aliassime is the man of the moment.
After a great run at the ATP500 in Rio de Janeiro where he reached the final, the 18-year-old from Canada reached the semifinal at the Miami Open coming straight from the qualifications and after winning 7 consecutive matches following his straight-sets win over Borna Coric.
Auger Aliassime compared to Federer, Djokovic, Murray, and Nadal
Felix joins the very exclusive list of the teenagers that have reached at least the quarters in the Miami Open such as: Stefan Edberg, Andre Agassi, Jim Courier, Pete Sampras, Lleyton Hewitt, Roger Federer, Andy Roddick, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Sascha Zverev, and his friend Denis Shapovalov.
During a press conference, the Canadian commented
“It’s a privilege to be compared to all these great players. I think it just shows that I’m doing good things. I’m on the right track.
But I think I’m seeing the long term, and right now I’m just enjoying every day, enjoying every match because you never know what’s going to happen next.”
Felix will face John Isner for a place in the final in Miami. There is no head to head record between them since this will be the first time that they will play each other.
HAPPY FOR THE COMPARISON
