He worked hard to get to the 3rd round at the Miami Open since he had to start from the qualifications. However, after beating Jared Donaldson, Bjorn Fratangelo, and Taro Daniel, the Russian had the satisfaction to dismiss Marin Cilic 6-4 6-4 in the 2nd round.
