Bouchard happy for Charleston wild-card

Genie Bouchard didn’t have a great run recently.

The world no.7 won 2 of the last 5 matches (after the Australian Open) ad crashing out in the opener in Miami (vs. world no.95 Tatjana Maria) didn’t really help.

So Genie decided to play in Charleston where she has been awarded with a wild card.

Genie commented “I thought about coming to Charleston after Miami. I feel like I didn’t get enough matches in the last few tournaments I played, so I just wanted to play more and lucky enough the tournament gave me a wildcard so I’m very thankful for that and very excited to play some matches and also start getting used to the clay.”
