Danielle Collins is one of the leading American players on the WTA tour. She was born in St. Petersburg in Florida the 13th December 1993 to Walter and Cathy Collins.
She graduated from Northeast High School in St. Petersburg, and she won a scholarship from the University of Florida. However, later she decided to attend the University of Virginia where she got a bachelor’s degree in media studies and business.

Danielle had an atypical career in tennis. In fact, she played collegiate tennis at the University of Virginia where she won the NNCA single title on 2 occasions (2014 2016).
The American started to impress on the world stage in 2014 when she lost in 3 sets to Simona Halep in the 1st round of the US Open while the Romanian was seeded no.2.
Danielle started to hit the headlines when she won the Newport Beach tournament in 2018 before reaching the 4th round in Indian Wells and the semifinal in Miami where she started from the qualifications.
The American had an extraordinary run at the recent Australian Open after she reached the semifinal

She just said in an on-court interview at Brisbane 2020 - that she has an Australian boyfriend who bought her surfing lessons for Xmas. And they will be doing that after the Aus Open.
