Stefanos Tsitsipas believes he doesn’t have a problem with the Daniil Medvedevs, saying he “sometimes finds it funny”. Both had previously shared some heated exchanges following their match in Miami in 2018.
Tsitsipas’ father Apostolos irritated Medvedev during their 2022 Australian Open match by accusing the Greek tennis star of receiving point-by-point coaching from Medvedev. When asked to comment on Medvedev, Tsitsipas was on Instagram Live with his girlfriend Paula Badosa.
Tsitsipas was live on Instagram when he shared these remarks about Medvedev “I find him funny sometimes on the court when he does his antics. Obviously, you want to go and play tennis and not spend 10 minutes talking, but sometimes they’re fun.”
Tsitsipas further said about Medvedev: “He has a very unique style. And a difficult player to play – because he serves big. He doesn’t make a lot of unforced errors. He doesn’t miss a lot. And he has the ball in play most of the time. He is not a creator, but a player. He doesn’t create a play. He doesn’t construct much of the play. But instead, he waits. He reads. And patience is one of his strongest components.”

Ranked no.5, Stefanos played his last match on the 10th of July when he lost to world no.32 Christopher Eubanks 3-6 7-6(4) 3-6 6-4 6-4 in the 4th round in Wimbledon (draw).
At present, during this year Tsitsipas has a compiled 35-13 match record. Stefanos Tsitsipas’s best result of the current season was reaching the final at the Australian Open and Barcelona.
Tsitsipas will compete next in Los Cabos (Abierto de Tenis Mifel). He will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 31st of July.
Daniil Medvedev in 2023
LWLWWWLWWL Currently ranked no.3, Daniil played his last match on the 14th of July when he lost to world no.1 Carlos Alcaraz 6-3 6-3 6-3 in the semifinal in Wimbledon (draw).
This season Daniil has achieved a composed 46-9 match record. Daniil conquered 5 titles in 2023 in Rotterdam, Doha, Dubai, Miami and Rome. The Russian was the runner-up in Indian Wells.
Medvedev is scheduled to play next in Washington (Citi Open). He will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 31st of July.
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Daniil Medvedev clashed against each other 12 times. Their record is 8-4 for Medvedev. Before, the last time they fought against each other, Daniil Medvedev won 7-5 7-5 in the semifinal in Rome (Internazionali BNL d’Italia) on the 20th of May 2023.
