Later on, Naomi crashed out in the opener in Dubai at the hands of Kiki Mladenovic (6-3 6-3) following her shocking split with her coach Sascha Bajin.
Naomi bounced back in Indian Wells after she defeated Mladenovic in a sort of rematch 6-3 6-4. However, the world n.1 didn’t manage to go beyond the 4th round after an extremely good Belinda Bencic defeated her 6-3 6-1.
