Nole had a great start of the season after he won the Australian Open. However, after a long hiatus, he disappointed in Indian Wells where he crashed out in the third round at the hands of Philipp Kohlschreiber (6-4 6-4). Nole will try to bounce back at this Miami Open where he won the title 6 times (2007, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2016).

Currently ranked no.81, Bernard is having another disappointing season with a 3-5 win-loss record. Tomic got to the 2nd round of the Miami Open after beating Thiago Monteiro 6-4 6-1 in the 1s t round.
