Casper Ruud lost the final in Bastad at the hands of an inspired Andrey Rublev, 7-6(3), 6-0. Despite the loss, the Norwegian player was still in a great mood. During the trophy presentation, Casper had a rather hilarious speech saying that Andrey is a very nice guy, even if, during the final, he managed to hit all sorts of lines.
This is what he said: “You’re a very tough competitor, but also a very nice guy, very funny, and always respectful to your opponents… even though you hit all the fucking lines today, it was not so respectful to me, but it’s okay.”

LWWWWWWWWL Ranked world no.4, Ruud played his last match on the 23rd of July when he lost to world no.7 Andrey Rublev 7-6(3) 6-0 in the final in Bastad (draw).
Currently, during this year Ruud has managed to achieve an overall 26-14 record. This year, Casper conquered 1 tournament in Estoril. Ruud was the runner-up at the French Open and Bastad.
Ruud has scheduled to play next in Hamburg (Hamburg European Open). He will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 24th of July.
Andrey Rublev in 2023
Currently the world no.7, Rublev played his last match on the 23rd of July when he defeated world no.4 Casper Ruud 7-6(3) 6-0 in the final in Bastad to win his 13th career title.
Presently, during this year Andrey has achieved a 39-14 match record. Rublev has won 2 titles in 2023 in Monte-Carlo and Bastad. Andrey reached the final in Dubai, Banja Luka and Halle.
Rublev has scheduled to compete next in Hamburg (Hamburg European Open). He will start to play the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 24th of July thanks to a wild card.
