18-year-old Dayana Yastremska has an emphatic start of her Miami Open campaign after she defeated Ekaterina Alexandrova in straight sets on Wednesday.
The match
Dayana had a similar run in both sets. In the opener, she got a 2-0 lead before her opponent stormed back (2-2). The Ukrainian got back her focus to win the 4 of the following 5 games and win 6-3. The second set was almost identical with Yastremska winning the first two games (2-0), but then the Russian fought back (2-2) before Dayana conquered the following 4 games to win the match 6-3 6-2 in 66 minutes.

Dayana will face the world no.11 Ashleigh Barty in the 2nd round. There is no head to head record since they have never played each other so far. The Australian is the favorite to get to the 3rd round, but an upset is very much possible.
