Dimitrov survives Kyrgios in Indian Wells

Grigor
Dimitrov
and Nick
Kyrgios
faced off on what was considered the most interesting match of the
2nd round in Indian Wells. The duo didn’t disappoint to gift the
crowd with a great match.

After an exchange of the first 2 sets, the match
had a crucial moment in the 8th game of the decider. Dimitrov was
facing 2 break points when he was 3-4 down (15-40) when Nick fell down during a
rally (he twisted his right ankle). Funny enough Grigor couldn’t put the ball
in after Kyrgios went down to lose his service game. Eventually the Australian
couldn’t hold serve when he was 5-3 up to finally lose the 3rd set
at the tiebreak.

Dimitrov

Grigor was still happy with his performance
even if he as close to defeat  “It’s
still early in the year, so still trying to find my game. I think it just takes
a bit of time to really find that rhythm.

“Coming to the tournament, to any
tournament now, I feel much more comfortable, much more confident. I have been
out there on those kinds of courts. I think it’s definitely an advantage for m.
But I think the game still needs to
improve a little bit more. It needs a bit of a polish up.”

Next
vs. Robredo

Dimitrov will play Robredo
in the next round. Head to head is
1-all.
