
Carlos Alcaraz, in Holger Rune, accepted it to compete in the Hopman Cup that is staged this week in Nice, South of France. After a three-year hiatus, the Hopman Cup will be held for the 32nd time from July 19 to July 23. The Nice Lawn Tennis Club will serve as the venue for the mixed-gender competition.
The event was briefly replaced by the ATP Cup for a period of three years following its annual recurrence from 1989 to 2019 in Perth. But, under Tennium’s direction, the competition is ready to return and will once more draw top players from all over the world.

The current edition is expected to carry with the usual format. In the men’s section of the competition, Wimbledon winner Carlos Alcaraz and rising talent Holger Rune will be the key draws. At the moment ranked no.1, Alcaraz played his last match on the 16th of July when he defeated world no.2 Novak Djokovic 1-6 7-6(6) 6-1 3-6 6-4 in the final in Wimbledon to win his 12th career title.
At the moment, during this season the Spaniard has managed to achieve an overall 47-4 match record. The Spaniard clinched 6 titles in 2023 in Buenos Aires, Indian Wells, Barcelona, Madrid, London and Wimbledon. The Spaniard got to the final in Rio de Janeiro.
Alcaraz has scheduled to play next in Toronto (National Bank Open). He will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 7th of August.
Holger Rune in 2023


At the moment ranked no.6 (career-high), the Dane played his last match on the 12th of July when he lost to world no.1 Carlos Alcaraz 7-6(3) 6-4 6-4 in the quarter in Wimbledon (draw).
At present, during this year Holger has achieved a compiled 37-13 match record. Rune clinched 1 title in Munich. Rune was the runner-up in Monte-Carlo and Rome.
Rune has scheduled to play next in Umag (Plava Laguna Croatia Open). He will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 24th of July.
