WTA RANKINGS. Naomi Osaka still world no.1 while Andreescu is close to top20

After an exciting fortnight in Indian Wells, Naomi is still the leader of the WTA ranking while Bianca Andreescu is ranked no.24.

Naomi Osaka leading the WTA rankings

Naomi Osaka keeps on leading the WTA rankings even if she didn’t manage to defend her Indian Wells.  The Japanese sensation is now ahead of the new world no. 2 Petra Kvitova of 441 points. The good news for Naomi is that she will have only 25 points to defend at the upcoming event in Miami since last year she crashed out already in the 2nd round to Elina Svitolina.

Bianca Andreescu

After winning a sensational title in Indian Wells, Bianca Andreescu goes up 36 places in the rankings to be the new world no.24. However, since she has no points to defend in Miami, she has good chances to improve her rankings even further.

Kvitova

Petra had a disappointing run in Indian Wells where she lost in the opening match at the hands of Venus Williams. However, since Simona Halep lost many points after she was defeated in the 4th round in the desert, the Czech overtook the Romanian to be the new world no.2.
