Carlos Alcaraz and Marketa Vondrousova have just won their first Wimbledon title. It is interesting to notice that both of them have a rather different relationship with the popular sports brand Nike. While Nike celebrated Carlitos with a lovely ad as below, the brand dropped Marketa.

During a recent interview, Marketa confirmed: “The contract finished last year. Yeah, it was after four years, so they decided to stop. We’ll see what happens now. I just said it’s going to take time. We’ll see what’s going to happen. Now this is happening. So we’ll see.”
Carlos Alcaraz in 2023
Currently the world no.1, Carlos played his last match on the 16th of July when he defeated world no.2 Novak Djokovic 1-6 7-6(6) 6-1 3-6 6-4 in the final in Wimbledon to win his 12th career title.
Presently, during this year the Spaniard owns a compiled 47-4 record. Carlos clinched 6 titles in 2023 in Buenos Aires, Indian Wells, Barcelona, Madrid, London and Wimbledon. Alcaraz got to the final in Rio de Janeiro.
Alcaraz will compete next in Toronto (National Bank Open). He will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 7th of August.
Marketa Vondrousova in 2023
Now ranked no.10 (career-high), Marketa played her last match on the 15th of July when she defeated world no.6 Ons Jabeur 6-4 6-4 in the final in Wimbledon to win her 2nd career title.
At present, during this year the Czech has a 31-10 record. Vondrousova clinched 1 title in Wimbledon.
She is also scheduled to play at the U.S. Open (U.S. Open) after Montreal. The main draw will start on the 7th of August.
