Murray adds Bjorkman to his coaching team

Andy Murray is getting more and more serious about his coaching team. The world no.4 has chosen to add Jonas Bjorkman to his team.

Why Andy chose Bjorkman

The Scott has been working for almost an year with Amelie Mauresmo that is allocating 25 weeks per season to Andy and Murray wants to fill this gap “After the Aussie Open, I spent the next three or four weeks with no coach and I feel that’s something I need to get sorted. I feel like there are some things I need to continue to work on all the time. When I don’t have someone there with me it’s a little bit harder to do that.

For me, it’s better to have someone around, so I’ll try to make sure I do that for the clay-court season. That’s high on my list of priorities.”

Bjorkman is an interesting choice for Andy as the former world no.4 was well known for his skills at the net as he has won 54 titles and 9 majors in doubles. So this can add some more to Murray’s game.

The Swede commented “I’m really looking forward to joining Andy Murray and his team for a test week, which we both hope will lead to joining the team permanently.”
