Bianca Andreescu’s ranking to skyrocket after Indian Wells

Bianca Andreescu is improving dramatically her position in the rankings

Bianca Andreescu

18-year-old Bianca Andreescu was little known among the tennis fans at the beginning of the year when she was ranked “just” 152 in the world. Then the Canadian hit the headlines when out of the blue she reached the final in Auckland starting from the qualifications and beating the likes of Caroline Wozniacki (in straight sets!) and Venus Williams.

After her run in New Zealand, the teenager won 4 matches in the Australian Open where she started from the qualifications before losing in the 2nd round. Always in January, Bianca won the title in Newport beach, and then in February she reached the semifinal in Acapulco.

Andreescu surprised again in Indian Wells where she reached the final after beating the likes of Garbine Muguruza and Elina Svitolina.

Bianca Andreescu’s rankings

Bianca is currently ranked no.60, but after this “crazy” run in Indian Wells, she will go up 27 places in the rankings to be the new world no.33 (if she loses in the final) or she will be ranked no.24 if she wins the title.

…. and what about the Year to Date rankings?

Even better, in the year to date rankings, Bianca will definitely be the world no.7 (if she loses the final), and she will be no.5 if she wins.

This is becoming more and more interesting.
