Huge cheers could be heard coming from the royal box when Carlos Alcaraz, who had just defeated Novak Djokovic in the men’s final, was crowned the new king of Centre Court.
The five-set epic’s star turn belonged to Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who punched the air with joy to celebrate the world number one’s first Wimbledon victory. George, 9, and Charlotte, 8, were on pins and needles during the final, which ultimately saw Alcaraz win the trophy and the £2.35 million prize money.

At the moment ranked no.1, Alcaraz played his last match on the 16th of July when he overcame world no.2 Novak Djokovic 1-6 7-6(6) 6-1 3-6 6-4 in the final in Wimbledon to win his 11th career title.
