After Carlos Alcaraz defeated him to win the Wimbledon 2023 men’s singles championship on Sunday, July 16, Novak Djokovic was very gracious in defeat.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion and Alcaraz engaged in a thrilling match before Alcaraz ultimately prevailed, possibly the biggest win of his career so far. After the match, Djokovic praised and congratulated the World No. 1, noting that he was defeated by a superior opponent. He also broke down in tears when he talked about his son, who was present to watch him perform.
