Novak Djokovic warns Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, and Holger Rune: “I am the Wimbledon favorite.”

Novak Djokovic is not shying away from his chances of winning his eighth Wimbledon

Novak Djokovic Talking About Being The Wimbledon Favorite

Novak Djokovic seems to be as confident as ever. During the oncourt interview that followed his victory over Andrey Rublev, the world no. 2 made fun of the upcoming players, jokingly saying that they are not managing to dethrone him (“It ain’t happening”). During the press conference that followed the match, the Serbian legend stated pretty clearly that it is a given that he is the favorite, looking at his results. It seems almost as if he is trying to scare the rest of the field, especially the up-and-coming players such as Jannick Sinner (his upcoming opponent), Carlos Alcaraz (the world number one), and Holger Rune, who has a positive record against Djokovic (2-0).

Novak said:  “I don’t want to sound arrogant, but of course, I would consider myself favourite. Judging with the results I had in my career here, the previous four occasions of Wimbledon that I won, and reaching other semi-final, I do consider myself favourite, yes.”
