The young Australian team had a great day!
Bernard Tomic and Thanasi Kokkinakis had solid wins to grab a solid 2-0 lead vs. the Czech Republic.
Kokkinakis started with a bang after recovering a 2 set deficit to finally defeat Rosol 4-6 2-6 7-5 7-5 6-3 . After this great win, it was time for Bernard to defeat Vesely in straight sets 6-4 6-3 7-6 (7-5).

Tanasy praised the captain of the Australian team Wally Masur for picking him for the match to comment “It was a big call by him but I’m happy he had the faith in me and happy I got the job done. I was getting killed for the first three sets but that’s the beauty of best-of-five sets if you hang in there and I’m thrilled I managed to turn it around.”
