Roger Federer beats Wawrinka in Indian Wells

Fantastic performance from Roger Federer that beats his good friend Stan Wawrinka in straight sets in the 3rd round in Indian Wells.

The match

Roger started the match strong of a 21-3 win-loss record against Wawrinka that has never managed to beat the Maestro on hard courts (16-0 the stats in favor of the former world no.1 on this surface).

Roger started the match strong on serve, and eventually the only difference with Wawrinka was a break at love in the 6th game (4-2) that was enough for the Swiss legend to win the opener 6-4.

Roger didn’t also blink in the second set to concede just 4 points on serve. Again the difference was 1 break in the 3rd game, and Federer won the match 6-3 6-4 in 59 minutes.

HEAD TO HEAD vs. Edmund

Roger will face Kyle Edmund for a place in the quarters. Federer and Edmund have never played each other so far on tour. The Swiss is the favorite to reach the quarters with a straight-sets win.
