Last week we had the tournaments in Doha won by Safarova (d. Azarenka) and in Acapulco won by Bacsinszky. Let’s see the movers of the week in the WTA.
Safarova
Lucie wins Doha to climb 4 places and be ranked no.11 (career high). Lucie is now less than 220 pts from Petkovic. The Czech has a great chance to break in the top10 very soon.
Azarenka
Vika is climbing back in the rankings. Reaching the final in Doha allowed her to gain 10 places and be ranked no.38. She will break in the top 20 within few months.
Bacsinszky
Timea won an incredible tournament in Acapulco after 6 years of her last triumph in Luxembourg. With this title she climbs 6 places to be ranked no.31 (career high).
