Naomi Osaka and Danielle Collins are going to face each other in the 3rd round in Indian Wells. They are scheduled to play on Monday at 6 pm.
Osaka
Naomi has managed to regroup after a tricky February following the traumatic split with her coach Sascha Bajin. Eventually, the Japanese found a fantastic replacement and her new coach Jermaine Jenkins is giving her the correct “mental set up” to move on.
The Japanese impressed in the 2nd round in the desert when she dismissed Kiki Mladenovic with a 6-3 6-4 scoreline a few weeks after the Frenchwoman defeated her 6-3 6-3 in Dubai.
Collins
Danielle was the big surprise of the Australian Open back in January after she reached the semifinal playing great tennis.
Ranked no.25, the American had an emphatic start of her Indian Wells campaign with a strong 6-4 6-1 win over Kirsten Flipkens.
Head to head Naomi Osaka and Danielle Collins
This will be the second time that Naomi and Danielle play each other. The head to head is 1-0 for the Japanese that brushed away the American last year in Bejing with a strong 6-1 6-0 scoreline.
However, Collins improved a lot since then, and Naomi is not expected to win another smooth contest against the American.
