Federer has a remarkable start of his Indian Wells campaign

Roger beats Peter Gojowczyk in straight sets in the second round.

Roger Federer starts his Indian Wells run with an excellent straight-sets win over the world no.85 Peter Gojowczyk.

The match

Roger started ominously with a fast 5-0 lead after breaking his opponent twice. That was enough for the Swiss sensation to secure the opening set 6-1.

Things were so smooth that Federer lost his focus in the 4th game of the second set when he was suddenly broken (1-3). However, the world no.4 broke back immediately before the contest went deep in the last stages of the set. Eventually, Roger found the solution again at the very end to break Peter at 30 in the 11th game (6-5) before winning the contest 6-1 7-5 in 77 minutes.

Roger will face either Marton Fucsovic or his friend Stan Wawrinka in the 3rd round.
