Rafael Nadal and Jared Donaldson will face off in the 2nd round of Indian Wells on Sunday at 6 pm on center court.
Nadal
Even if Rafa is in great form, he hasn’t managed to win a title yet in 2019 after he lost in the Australian Open final by Novak Djokovic and he was defeated in the 2nd round in Acapulco at the hands of Nick Kyrgios after a rather controversial match.
Seeded no.2 in Indian Wells, the Spaniard is one of the top favorites to win the title. This would be the 4th time for the world no.2 after 2007, 2009, and 2013. He was the runner-up in 2011.
Donaldson
Ranked no.192, the American is trying to climb up the rankings again (his career high was no.48 in 2018). However, Jared had a grim 0-2 win-loss record in 2019 before defeating Tatsuma Ito in the opener in Indian Wells where he received a wildcard.

This will be the 2nd time that Rafa and Jared play each other. The head to head is 1-0 for Nadal that beat Donaldson 6-2 6-1 in the second round in Shanghai back in 2017. The Spaniard is the hot favorite to reach the 3rd round in straight sets.
