Finally it was Lucie Safarova and Vika Azarenka that managed to reach the final in Doha.

The world no.15 had a smooth match against Carla Suarez Navarro to win 6-3 6-2 in just over an hour. “It’s so exciting! It’s my first final this year, and I’ve been playing so well in all my matches, so I’m really, really happy,” Safarova commented.
Azarenka
Ranked no.45 after her series of injuries, Vika is getting stronger and stronger. The Belarusian defeated Venus Williams in the semi 2-6 6-2 6-4. Azarenka is having a great tournament as she has demolished some other top players such as Kerber (6-0 6-3) and Wozniacki (6-3 6-1). Talking about the semi Vika commented “I had to change something after the first set. Otherwise, it was going very one-way street. And Venus is the type of player that she’s not going to give anything. You got to fight hard and got to try to come up with the solutions.
The final
Head to head is 6-0 for Vika that has conceded just 1 set in the previous encounters to Lucie, but the last time they played was 4 years ago. Things changed.
