Nole is more and more the world no.1. The “Serbinator” has a remarkable 10-1 win-loss record in 2019 after he won the Australian Open in style. Nole won Indian Wells on 5 occasions (2008, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016) and he was the runner-up back in 2007.
Fratangelo
Ranked no.128, Bjorn has a 9-5 win-loss record, but most of his matches are played at challenger level on in the qualifications of ATP events. The American got to the 2nd round in Indian Wells after going through the qualifications when he beat Andrey Rublev. In the 1st round, he defeated Elias Ymer 4-6 6-2 6-2.

This will be the second time that Novak and Bjorn play each other. Thea head to head is 1-0 for Djokovic. The Serb defeated him also in the 2nd round of Indian Wells back in 2016, but that wasn’t easy since the world no.1 won in 3 sets (2-6 6-1 6-2).
