Great stuff in Indian Wells as Serena Wiliams and Vika Azarenka played a fantastic contest in the 2nd round.

The match

This match between Serena and Vika was the repetition of the 2016 Indian Wells final when the Belarussian won 6-4 6-4. Fast forward 3 years and both players are mothers, and they do not hide the difficulty of balancing their private and professional life.

Vika started pretty well to be 1-break up on 2 occasions (2-1 and 3-2), but Serena always managed to break back immediately. The American won 3 consecutive games to reverse a 2-3 deficit in a 5-3 lead. However, she was unable to serve out the first set, and Vika made it even (5-5). Finally, it was Serena to find the final break in the 12th game and conquer the 1st set (7-5).

The American was broken immediately at the beginning of the second set. Once again Serena broke back immediately (1-1). The pair went toe to toe for the rest of the set until the 8th game when Serena conquered the decisive break in the 8th game (5-3) before winning the contest 7-5 6-3 after 2 hours and 6 minutes.
