Djokovic, Murray devastating in Dubai

Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray look solid and solid to reach the Dubai quarters in style.

Nole was practically flawless against world no.107 Andrey Golubev. The Serbian didn’t concede a single break point to break the Russian 4 times. The final result was 6-1 6-2 and that was in just 61 minutes. Match Stats.

After the match the world no.1 commented “Having one match under my belt before today’s encounter helped me to feel a bit more comfortable to move around on the court quicker, and I tried to take away the time from my opponent today.  was just a much better performance than yesterday. Hopefully I can improve as the tournament progresses.”

Nole will play in the quarters the qualifier and world no. 104 Marsel Ilhan from Turkey. This will be the first time they pay each other.

Murray

Andy had a surprising easy match against Joao Sousa . The Portuguese couldn’t put a ball in especially in the first set and the Scott took full advantage of it to win 6-0 6-2 in Just 58 minutes. Match Stats.

After the match Murray commented “Today I thought I just picked the right shots and played the right way when he was struggling. I didn’t give him any free points. I didn’t make sort of needless errors. He was getting more frustrated because he couldn’t get any free points and then was going for more and more shots and obviously making more errors because of it.”

Andy will play Borna Coric in the quarters. Head to head is 1-0 for Andy and that was a rough 6-3 6-0 6-3… but it was in 2013 Davis Cup when Borna was just 16.
