Roger shares his thoughts about the improvements and the game of Stefanos Tsitsipas

Federer Tsitsipas

Roger Federer and Stefanos Tsitsipas know each other pretty well right now.

The Swiss and the Greek have already played each other 3 times in 2019 after Roger defeated him in straight sets at the Hopman Cup 7-6 7-6 and Dubai 6-4 6-4. However, the Greek stunned the Swiss in the 4th round in Melbourne after he won 6-7 (11) 7-6 (3) 7-5 7-6 (5) to prove he can fry big fishes. Roger and Stefanos are also used to train together during the offseason.

Why Federer likes Tsitsipas

Roger is currently in Indian Wells where he will try to win his title no.101 and he shared his thoughts about Stefanos to say

“I like his improvements. Who wouldn’t like that because I think he started the season last year ranked around 90. So here we are 13/14 months later and he is top10. The first Greek to ever do it.

I mean it’s an amazing accomplishment. He has done lot’s of things right, his parents have done a lot of things right. So I think his dad is very proud of him.

I like how he is able to win points in different ways and he is taking the ball early which I think is very important if you want to win big events.”

That’s a nice one.
