Even though she withdrew from the competition, Emma Raducanu made an unexpected appearance on the first day of Wimbledon. After undergoing three different operations earlier this year, the 20-year-old is currently out of commission. Yet, she showed up at the All England Club alongside Jack Draper, another injured British man.
After having surgery on her ankle and both hands, Raducanu will not be competing in her home Grand Slam competition this year. The British athlete had been bothered by wrist issues since last summer and decided to have surgery in May, which kept her out of competition for a while.
The 20-year-absence old’s from the competition is a first since her impressive debut in 2021 as a wildcard, when she advanced to the second week. Yet, Raducanu made a surpise appearance at SW19 on the opening day of The Championships and stopped to take photos with spectators.
The former world No. 10 has her own personal sponsors as well, including Wimbledon sponsors Evian and Vodafone. She was recently spotted in the VIP area of the water company carrying her obligations.

Ranked no.132, the Brit played her last match on the 18th of April when she lost to world no.17 Jelena Ostapenko 6-2 6-1 in the 1st round in Stuttgart (draw).
Until now, during this year Emma has managed to achieve a composed 5-5 match record.
Jack Draper in 2023
At the moment ranked no.78, Draper played his last match on the 29th of May when he had to retire when playing against world no.32 Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the 1st round and the scoreline was 6-4 1-0 .
Until now, during this year the Brit owns a 10-7 record. Jack Draper’s best achievement of this season was getting to the semifinal in Adelaide.
