Simon, Monfils to play an all-French final in Marseille

Gills Simon and Gael Monfils set up an all-French final in Marseille.

Simon had to recover from a set down against Sergiy Stakhovsky to win 2-6 6-3 6-2 (match stats).

In the other part of the draw wild carded Monfils defeated Bautista-Agut 6-4 6-2. The key moment of the match was when the Frenchman won 4 consecutive game from 4-all in the opener to grab a  6-4 2-0 lead.

Monfils commented “My coach gave me good tactics and I played differently compared to last week. Today I kept it simple and it helped me playing a big match.” 

The final

This is the first time since 2009 that we a have an all-French final in Marseille (Tsonga v Llodra).  H2H Simon leads Monfils 4-1.
