Following the period of the Big 3, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer, tennis appears to be in good hands with the like of Holger Rune and Carlos Alcaraz.

Rune, in a recent interview with Tennis Magazine, talked about his rivalry with Carlos Alcaraz: “He [Carlos Alcaraz] is a great guy, I like Carlos, he’s from the south of Europe and I’m from the north. We may be different, yes, but we both want the same thing. Everyone wants to be the best, it’s always been like this, so in the future we will play great games against each other, I’m sure.”

Holger Rune in 2023

Currently ranked no.6 (career-high), Rune played his last match on the 24^th of June when he capitulated to world no.16 Alex De Minaur 6-3 7-6(2) in the semifinal in London (draw).

This year Rune has a composed 33-12 win-loss record. This year, Holger lifted the trophy in Munich. Rune got to the final in Monte-Carlo and Rome.

Rune has scheduled to compete next at the Wimbledon (Wimbledon). He will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 3rd of July.

Carlos Alcaraz in 2023

Currently the world no.1, Alcaraz played his last match on the 25^th of June when he defeated world no.16 Alex De Minaur 6-4 6-4

in the final in London to win his 11^th career title.

At the moment, during this season Alcaraz has a compiled 40-4 win-loss record. The Spaniard conquered 5 titles in 2023 in Buenos Aires, Indian Wells, Barcelona, Madrid and London. Carlos got to the final in Rio de Janeiro.

Alcaraz will play next at the Wimbledon (Wimbledon). He will start from the main draw that will commence on the 3rd of July.
