Just before Wimbledon, Yannick Hanfmann had the most embarrassing moment of his career. The German star, who was competing against Pedro Cachin in the Mallorca Championships, missed the simplest shot he will ever have, which caused the commentators to chuckle.
Argentinian Cachin had already begun to walk away when he blasted a last-ditch backhand high and just over the net for the simplest of returns. Amazingly, though, Hanfmann utterly missed the ball and even struck the net, losing the point.
The commentator said : “Goodness me, what an absolute gift for Cachin. This is the easiest put-away you’re ever going to see in professional tennis and look what happens.”
Yannick Hanfmann will come up against the world no.5 Stefanos Tsitsipas in the 2nd round on Wednesday at 3:30 pm on CENTER COURT. Their current head to head is 1-1.
