Kei Nishikori wins his 3rd consecutive title in Memphis and the 8th of his great career!
The world no.5 didn’t have a walk in the park in Memphis to win the first 3 matches rallying from a set down; interesting enough his “easiest” match was in the final when he defeated Kevin Anderson 6-4 6-4. Match Stats
Nishikori: I played very solid…
Kei was finally happy with his tennis to comment “It feels great, of course. Today’s match was much different than [the last] couple of matches. I played really solid from the baseline and returned really well.”
…and I love the guitar
As part of the prize Kei received also a custom-made Gibson Memphis ES-335 “I love it! I’ve never done guitar before, but I think I might need to start and get some lessons.” he commented
After this win, Kei will take some rest while Kevin Anderson will head to Delray Beach where he is seeded no.1
