Wawrinka, Berdych to fight in Rotterdam final

Stan Wawrinka and Tomas Berdych will face off in the Rotterdam Final.

Tomas had a great performance agasint Gilles Simon to win in less than 1 hour 6-2 6-1. Tomas was in absolute control for the entire match to finally score 56 points vs. Simon’s 23.

Tomas commented “My game was good and the game plan was even better. It was a very good game. I need to keep going as there is still one more match to go. I want to go all the way.”

Berdych has won 10 career titles (the last one was last year in Stockholm)

Wawrinka

Stan had a much more difficult task in the semifinal to beat Raonic 7-6 (3) 7-6 (7).  There were no breaks in the entire match and Stan won the co test scoring just 1 point more than Milos (80 vs. 79). Match Stats.

Stan was very happy for his performance to comment “In general, I’ve been playing really well,” said Wawrinka. “I’ve been really aggressive and moving well in the rallies. I served well when I was (facing) a break point. It’s only one or two points that make the difference and I played a good tie-break.”

Wawrinka has won 8 titles in his career and the last one was this year in Chennay.

Head to head

Tomas and Stan have played each other 15 times. Head to head is 10-5 for Wawrinka.  Berdych may be the favorite to win the defend his title as his tennis proved to be a bit more consistent than Stan’s this week in Rotterdam.
