Paul Annacone, a well-known coach and pundit, has determined which player is most likely to unseat Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon next month.
Carlos Alcaraz, the former No. 12 in the world, is Djokovic’s greatest threat because he “can harm you so many different ways,” according to the ex-champion.
Six of the last eight Wimbledon tournaments dating back to 2014 have been won by Djokovic, including the previous four. The Serbian is aiming to match Roger Federer’s men’s record of eight trophies at the All England Club, where he has won seven total.
The 36-year-old, who has previously won the Australian Open and the French Open, is aiming to finish the Calendar Grand Slam this year.
Annacone, a former coach of Roger Federer and Pete Sampras, commented on Tennis Channel: “Well the question is, can anyone knock off Novak, right? That’s the question. A lot’s going to depend on the draw and style matchups.
I still think the best player just to take Novak out is a guy named ‘Carlitos’ Alcaraz. Just because he can hurt you so many different ways. I think on a grass court. There’s a lot of people that can create the opportunity.
“But to do it three out of five sets in a major is such a difficult question. I think Alcaraz has the best shot at just taking Novak out for me.”

WWWWWWWLWW Currently ranked no.1, Alcaraz played his last match on the 25th of June when he overcame world no.16 Alex De Minaur 6-4 6-4 in the final in London to win his 11th career title.
Presently, during this year Alcaraz has a 40-4 record. Carlos clinched 5 titles in 2023 in Buenos Aires, Indian Wells, Barcelona, Madrid and London. The Spaniard was the runner-up in Rio de Janeiro.
Alcaraz will play next at the Wimbledon (Wimbledon). He will start to play the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 3rd of July.
Novak Djokovic in 2023
LWWWWWWWWW At the moment ranked no.2, Novak played his last match on the 11th of June when he overcame world no.4 Casper Ruud 7-6(1) 6-3 7-5 in the final of the French Open to win his 94th career title.
During this season Novak has managed to achieve a 27-4 match record. The Serbian has won 3 titles in 2023 in Adelaide, Australian Open and French Open.
