WIMBLEDON. Sebastian Korda believes he is one fo the favorites with Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz

Sebastian Korda is confident for his grass court campaign, predicting he is one of the favorites to win Wimbledon despite Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz's dominance. Korda missed three months due to a wrist injury and had modest success on clay. He eliminated fourth seed Frances Tiafoe at Queen's and defeated Dan Evans earlier in the event.

Korda Optimistic For Wimbledon

Sebastian Korda is extremely confident for his grass court campaign stating that he feels he is one of the favorites to win Wimbledon despite Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz’s dominance.

It is only the 22-year-old’s 4th ATP tournament since February, and he is competing at the Cinch Championships at Queen’s. Korda missed three months on the Tour due to a wrist injury after making it all the way to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open back in January. When he started playing competitive tennis again, the American only had modest success on the clay, winning just one of his four games, a match he played against Mackenzie McDonald in the French Open’s first round.

On the grass, though, Korda seems considerably more at home. He eliminated fourth seed Frances Tiafoe at Queen’s on Wednesday by scores of 7-6(2), 6-3. He also defeated Dan Evans in straight sets earlier in the event.

Sebastian commented: “I’m very confident in myself on the grass court. I move really well and definitely have a game that not very many people have,” Korda said following his win over Tiafoe. “I’m an aggressive player, I like to come to the net, I have good hands, and I definitely feel as if I’m one of the favorites at Wimbledon.
