Alcaraz and the line umpire had a pleasant exchange during the third set when he praised her close call at 1-2 30-15. Rinderknech missed a shot by millimeters. The Frenchman instantly asked for a review after the line umpire confirmed the ball “out.”
Alcaraz congratulated the line judge for the call after it was shown on the big screen that she was correct. The World No. 2’s remarks caused the line umpire to blush. Lovely scene.
