Rafael Nadal and Nick Kyrgios may share the court now and then, but they live on 2 different galaxies.
On Thursday, Rafa had to bow to the Australian after an incredibly eventful match that Nadal was very close to winning. In fact, in the first set, the Australian was in free flow with his annoying antics to state that he was playing just because of the media. Then he pretended to have a “sort of” illness, a problem to his knee and his back. Eventually, the controversial Australian won this incredible match in more than 3 hours running like a rabbit at the very end.
After the match, Rafa gave one of the coldest handshakes of his remarkable career while Kyrgios was challenging a big chunk of the fans that was booing him loudly.
Kyrgios disrespects everyone. NADAL
After the match, Rafa had some extremely tough words against Kyrgios to comment
“He’s a player that in theory has an enormous talent to win Grand Slams or fighting for the no.1 ranking, but at the end, he is where he is (Kyrgios is currently world no.72). He is a very dangerous player that doesn’t have continuity.
I do not think he is a bad person, I think he is a good person, but he lacks respect for the crowd, the rival and towards himself.”
That was straight!
Kyrgios doesn’t care about Nadal calling him disrespectful. INTERVIEW
