Marcos Baghdatis is playing a great tournament in Zagreb to reach the semifinal after winning his 3rd consecutive match coming from a set down. In the quarters Marcos edged Youzhny 3-6 6-3 6-4 scoring just 3 points more than his opponent (86 – 83).
Baghdatis: I find ways to win
Marcos was very happy for his performance “It was a tough match. I have a problem starting matches here. I am like a diesel. I think it is because I am a bit tired, but I am winning matches so I am really happy. I find ways to win, so this is a very positive sign.
Misha is a tough opponent. He can play unbelievable tennis. He had some moments today when he was playing really well, but then he also had moments when he made many unforced errors. I tried to stay in the points, put as many balls back, and make him play. I was very fortunate to win today.”
Next Garcia-Lopez
Baghdatis will play Garcia-Lopez for a place in the final. Head to head is 2-0 for the Spaniard.
In the other semifinal Federer’s conqueror, Andreas Seppi, will face Marcel Granollers. Head to head is 3-all, but Seppi should be the favorite.
BAGHDATIS = HAPPY GUY |
