Great news from Naomi Osaka‘s team as the Japanese announces that she has a new coach.
Naomi welcomed Jermaine Jenkins as a member of her team on social media. The world no.1 surprised the tennis world after she parted ways abruptly with her former coach Sascha Bajin that was decisive to help her to win the 2 back to back slams in New York and Melbourne and to conquer the first spot in the rankings.
Who is Jermaine Jenkins?
Naomi Osaka’s new coach used to be the hitting partner of Venus Williams similarly to Sascha Bajin the used to be the hitting partner of Serena Williams.
His partnership with Venus commenced in July 2015, and that started a rather successful stint for the American that reached the finals at the Australian Open and Wimbledon in 2017 allowing Williams to be ranked no.5 during that year.
Jermaine was recently appointed as the USTA national coach for women’s tennis.
