Bouchard will not play the Fed Cup

This was a bit strange. Genie Bouchard is well known for her strong affection to the colors of her country and she has always been very proud to play for Canada.  This time Genie surprises after deciding not to play the next Fed Cup tie.

Last week Genie declared she wasn’t sure about her participation to the upcoming Fed Cup tie against the Czech Republic.  Many were expecting a “last minute OK” from the Canadian Beauty, but that didn’t come. The most surprising thing is that the tie will be played in Quebec City, Canada, and Czech Republic won’t show up with its top players (Kvitova and Safarova), so he should have been very taxing on Genie.

Kelly Murumets, President and CEO of Tennis Canada, released a not very enthusiastic comment on this “Of course we are disappointed that Genie is unable to be available for this tie and we know her fans in Quebec City will be disappointed as well,”

Bouchard will be replaced by junior player Charlotte Robillard-Millette (16-year-old).

NO FED CUP, NO SMILE?
